Konoha is tracking Sasuke’s scent using Kiba’s super sensory nose that is more sensitive than the nose of a ninja hound. However, Karin, who is also a sensory type of ninja, can sense the presence and nature of chakra that is nearby.
While Konoha was on its way to Sasuke’s location, Karin sensed their chakra. Karin imediately informed Sasuke about it and quickly moved away from their current location. While moving away, Karin dispersed Sasuke’s scent on different locations by tearing Sasuke’s clothes and scattering it in different locations using birds which Jugo controls.
Kiba’s nose immediately sensed the scattering of Sasuke’s scent and confused him. Because of this, Naruto used shadow clone jutsu and scattered his clones in different locations.
In the process of trying to find Sasuke using his clones, Naruto encountered Itachi. However, Itachi didn’t approached Naruto to capture him. Surprisingly, Itachi only wanted to talk to Naruto.
On the other hand, Tsunade and Jiraiya also had a conversation, a serious one and probably their last. Jiraiya informed Tsunade about the location of the Akatsuki’s leader which is in the Hidden Rain Village. The village was the ground for battles between great countries such as the Land of the Fire and Wind since it is located between these great countries.
More than that, Tsunade and Jiraiya envisioned the future of Konoha and who will inherit the throne of Hokage, seeing Kakashi and then, maybe Naruto to become future Hokage.
Reminiscing the memories of Minato Namikaze, Jiraiya and Tsunade thought Naruto has his father’s looks. Jiraiya also spoke of Kushina Uzumaki’s boyish attitude and red hair. Naruto seem to act and perform jutsu like his mother.
After all the conversation, Jiraiya left Konoha to infiltrate the Hidden Rain Village, a dangerous and sacrificial mission.
