Creating a PDF File

October 10, 2009 | Posted in Other Interests, Science Innovations, Software

In college, I was asked by my teacher to pass my thesis in pdf format. I didn’t know exactly how to do it and if I have to buy a pdf related to software in order to this.

My first question was, "How does a pdf file look?". Second is "Why is it necessary to convert my word document into a pdf file?".

These are the answers. First of all, a pdf file looks exactly like any type of microsoft applications like word, excel, notepad and more. The difference is that once you convert these computer applications into pdf file, a person will not be able to edit or change any part of the file unles they have a password. Why convert? PDF creator softwares will protect you file from unauthorized persons. This will give you a sense of ownership to your files. My personal experience made me realize that it is easier to read a file in pdf format since the file content in a pdf file is always accessible and visible in any type of operating system. This is also the reason why my teacher wanted us to convert word to pdf.

There are so many good pdf converters in the internet. Most of these pdf converters will allow you to convert pdf to word and also word to pdf. There is also a pdf software that have these functions:

1. print out documents into pdf format

2. combine different pdf fiules into one pdf file

3. convert PDFs into microsoft word format

4. extract and split pages from PDF files

5. secure and password protect PDF files

More than that, the set-up process for this software only takes a few seconds. All you need to do is click a few buttons.
